Dear Colleagues,
I am writing to share information about the Sofia Art and Music Festival (SAMF) 2026, taking place June 29–July 13, 2026, in Sofia, Bulgaria.
SAMF offers conductors the opportunity to work directly with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra in its historic home, Bulgaria Hall. Accepted conductors receive at least 80 minutes of podium time with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, including rehearsals, dress rehearsal, and a public performance. Additional podium opportunities are available through faculty masterclasses and potential collaborations with visiting ensembles.
Repertoire includes both traditional or contemporary works, with individual repertoire preferences discussed during the selection process. The program emphasizes professional rehearsal practice, collaboration, and artistic exchange in an international setting.
SAMF also includes participant composers and visual artists; additional information is available on the festival website.
