2026 Irish Chamber Orchestra Academy (strings)

The Classical String Performance-programme at the University of Limerick invites applicants for the 2026 Irish Chamber Orchestra Academy project!
This 3-day intensive course welcomes Irish & international 3rd level string students to play alongside & receive mentoring from Principals of the ICO - refining chamber music- and ensemble playing skills, & promoting body-awareness through Body Mapping.
The ICOA starts on Wednesday 11 March in the ICO Studio, University of Limerick, & culminates in a lunchtime-performance on 13 March. The programme will provisionally include works by Strauss & Mendelssohn
The ICO Academy is free & shared hotel accommodation (incl. breakfast) is provided. The only expenses for participants are subsistence & the cost of travel. One double bass will be available for participants' use.
