Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra 2025 - Violin

Apply now for the 2025 Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra! The VFJO is an international orchestral training programme in Verbier, Switzerland, for musicians aged 15 to 18.

Members are coached by a roster of established players from around the globe, many of whom are Verbier Festival alumni and who now perform in leading international orchestras. Between 13 July and 04 August 2025, these young musicians will learn, rehearse and perform symphonic music and 1 opera.

Applicants to the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra programme can either apply for a live audition or submit an application by video.

Application Fee: USD 50

Successful candidates will be required to pay a participation fee of CHF 1,500 to take part in the VFJO’s three-week programme. This fee is intended to partially offset the costs of accommodation, meals and supervision for students. VFJO musicians are also required to organise and pay for their own return journey to Verbier, entry visa fees, health insurance, instrument insurance (if necessary) and to provide their own pocket money.

The remainder of training costs (CHF 8,000) is covered by the Verbier Festival with the help of generous donors, sponsors and public funders.

Thanks to the generosity of the Loterie Romande, Swiss citizens born or resident in the cantons of Berne, Geneva, Juras, Neuchâtel, Valais or Vaud will be exempt from paying the participation fee.
