Assistant Conductor

The Assistant Conductor will play a critical role in supporting the UAE National Orchestra’s artistic operations by assisting in conducting rehearsals, performances, and special projects. As a key member of the orchestra's leadership team, the Assistant Conductor will support the Artistic Director in executing the orchestra's vision while contributing to the development of artistic programs. The role requires strong leadership, musical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with musicians, guest artists, and staff. This position provides an opportunity for professional growth, with a focus on advancing the UAE National Orchestra's position as a leading cultural institution.
• Provide leadership to the orchestra, promoting a positive and productive rehearsal environment that encourages artistic growth.
• Collaborate with section leaders, principals, and other musicians to refine interpretations and solve musical challenges.
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of educational outreach programs and community engagements.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of artistic projects, including new commissions and special performances.
• Work closely with the Artistic Director and Music Programmer and the librarian to review and support the artistic programming, suggesting new repertoire, guest artists, or special projects.
• Engage in research of composers, orchestral works, and performance practices to ensure the orchestra maintains a diverse and forward-thinking repertoire.
