Violin:
1800s european violin
Prix: $10500 Aus
This violin is of European origin from the first half of the 19th century, maker/school unknown. One valuation has previously said French. It is a copy of a Carlo Bergonzi with an interesting paperwork and provenance. I bought as part of a deceased estate; it has been regularly played by professionals or serious amateurs, and in this case are also two very interesting bows (not included in this sale - plz message me for details, one stamped HR Pfrezchner). This violin was originally from the collection of EW Morrison, an interesting theatre impressario in Melbourne around 1900 who collected many violins- there is extensive paperwork inside. I bought directly from the grandson of the last owner. This violin was valued in 1992!! at $6,800- is a good quality European violin from early 1800s and it needs to be played.
Certification: The latest insurance valuation is available inside the violin. I am located in Adelaide, please come and see and play it.
