Description:
The Juilliard School seeks applicants for violin faculty positions for the Pre-College, with potential for students in the Music Advancement Program (MAP) as well. Responsibilities include teaching weekly applied lessons, studio classes, possible chamber music coaching, and recruiting. The faculty position is also expected to attend annual auditions and juries, departmental meetings, student recitals, and participate actively in the school community.
The Juilliard School Preparatory Division offers a comprehensive conservatory-style music program for advanced students of elementary through high-school age who exhibit the talent, potential, and ambition to pursue serious music study at the college level. The faculty serves as teachers, role models, and mentors guiding students as they develop technical proficiency while fostering creativity and intellectual curiosity. Recognizing the importance of early development and discipline in the music field, the school offers an atmosphere where artistic gifts and technical skills can flourish. Juilliard has an ongoing commitment to the principles and practices of equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging and is committed to fostering an environment that is inclusive, supportive, and welcoming to all.
Payment is $130-190/hour for studio lessons; faculty who teach 10 hours per week or more are considered full-time and benefits-eligible.
