Spring Into Conducting

Spring Into Conducting is an immersive residential course in Jersey with renowned conductor Robert Houlihan, offering intensive training in baton technique, rehearsal skills, score prep, aural work, and orchestral leadership. Open to ages 18+, participants progress from working with a pianist to rehearsing with a string quartet and wind quintet, gaining practical experience in core repertoire in a supportive setting.

Features: Welcome event; final-day open rehearsal.

Included: Full board (for residents), daily meals, repertoire materials, score-reading, aural/technique sessions, ensemble work, social activities, and tuition from Robert Houlihan and faculty.

Repertoire: Haydn 104; Mozart Magic Flute; Beethoven Egmont & 5 Mvt 1; Strauss II Fledermaus; Britten Simple Symphony; Sibelius Valse Triste; plus Elgar, Warlock, Debussy for less advanced.
