Salary: £37,715 - £39,444

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for Co-Principal 2nd Violin (sitting No.2) and Principal 2nd Violin (sitting No.3).
Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the above positions. Please specify on the application form which vacancy you wish to apply for. These are full-time, contract positions, for which front desk and section leading experience is required for No. 2 and desirable for No. 3.

We are only able to accept applications from candidates who are eligible to live and work in the UK. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct documentation, including a work permit if applicable.

Based in Poole, Dorset, BSO perform extensively across the south and south-west of England, nationally and internationally, and also deliver an extensive range of education and community work, through its award-winning Participate department.

The Orchestra’s Chief Conductor is Mark Wigglesworth; Leader Amyn Merchant.

Single round, unaccompanied auditions will be held in spring 2025, at The Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts.

Requirements:

1st movement of a Mozart Violin Concerto (no.3, 4 or 5) (without cadenza)
1st movement of a major concerto, Beethoven or later (without cadenza)
Excerpts – these will be sent to those applicants who are invited to audition
