Violin II Assistant Principal

The Vratsa Symphony Orchestra announces an opening for the position of Violin II Co-Principal/Assistant Principal.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated musician to join our seconds violins section as an asistant of principal permanently.

The orchestra also reserves the right to offer a Violin Tutti Position to those candidates who, after the trial period, showed a great technical skills, a versatile sound, a quick ensemble adaptation and a commitment to musical excellence.

Some of the requirements are: advanced studies in music (bachelor or master in a conservatory or equivalent education), sight-reading and ensemble performance skills, the ability to adapt to different styles and repertoire (classical, romantic, contemporary). Proven orchestral experience will be taken in consideration but it is not mandatory.

The audition is divided into three rounds.

1st Round. VIDEO SUBMISSION - Solo pieces + excerpts*
Solo concertos (Choose one):
- W. A. Mozart: Violin Concerto No. 3, 4 or 5 – 1st movement (Exposition)
AND
- A contrasting piece of your choice for solo violin of at least 3 minutes long.

Excerpts:
- Mozart: Symphony No. 39, 4th movement - from beginning to mm. 41
- Brahms: Piano Concerto No. 1, 3rd movement - mm. 238 to 265
- Stravinsky: Violin Concerto No. 1, 1st movement - from N.27 to N. 32

2nd Round. ONLINE INTERVIEW

Final Round. TRIAL PERIOD (4-6 weeks)

Only successful candidates will advance to the next round but all of them will be notified.
