Associate Principal (No.2) Double Bass
(full-time, permanent)
Applications are invited for the position of Associate Principal (No.2) Double Bass with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. The position is full-time and permanent. There is an obligation to step up to Section Principal in this role.
The panel is looking for a candidate who:
- Enjoys working within a section and possesses the appropriate skills to do so, but also possesses the skills, experience, and enthusiasm to step up to Section Principal when required.
- Demonstrates support for, and contribution to, the leadership of the section both on and off the platform, including providing constructive criticism where appropriate.
- Is able to be flexible and supportive towards the section principle. within the double bass section and wider ensemble both on and off the platform.

The dates for auditions are projected to be the 29th and 30th of March in Glasgow. Auditions will be held in multiple rounds on the same day, so candidates should be available for the full day of their audition.
Candidates who hold a comparable or higher position, or who have trialled for a comparable or higher position in the last 18 months, may be invited straight to a second round.
