Summer@Eastman: Brass Institutes

Summer@Eastman announces four one-week brass institutes for collegiate and adult musicians (age 18+):

The Eastman Summer Horn Institute and the Eastman Summer Trumpet Institute will prepare participants for orchestral or military band auditions. Led by Eastman faculty and guests who are experienced teachers and also longtime professional orchestral musicians, these institutes feature mock auditions, intensive excerpt study, and sessions on performance anxiety.

Justin Benavidez will coordinate and teach the Eastman Summer Tuba & Euphonium Institute, focusing on solo, chamber, and ensemble playing. Participants will improve their sound, musicality, and technique in a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.

Mark Kellogg and a dream team of guest instructors return to Rochester this summer for the 19th Eastman Summer Trombone Institute. In addition to working on solo and ensemble music, participants will also explore the art of improvisation with Dr. Christopher Azzara.
