Gold Mounted Violin Bow by Kurt Werner Uebel, Germany c.1980 - Try in the UK

This is one of the finest examples of Kurt Werner Uebel’s (b.1928) bowmaking. Octagonal and gold-mounted, with a length of 744mm and a weight of 62.8g. The bow is stamped on the handle “K. WERNER UEBEL ***”, “44” underneath, and his crest is stamped on the frog.

The bow was owned by a concertmaster of one of the UK’s best orchestras. It was first purchased in 1982.

History - Uebel has been an established family in bowmaking since 1892. However, it is Kurt Werner who decided to move from student-quality bows and push the family name to worldwide renown by producing highest quality bows.

Condition - This bow is in excellent condition and preservation with no repairs – only general surface wear from age and use. A formal condition report is available for this bow.
