Senior Artist (f/m/d) for Sound Design und Sound Art

YOUR DUTIES
• Independent teaching of courses and holding exams, especially in the Sound Design master’s programme and the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Computer Music and Sound Art as well as Electrical Engineering–Audio Engineering in particular for the courses:
o Aesthetics of Electroacoustic Music (semester levels 1 and 2)
o Acoustic Ecology – Theory and Practice
o Performance Practice and Sound Direction
o Sound Design (semester levels 1 and 2)
o Independent Design and Research (semester levels: Field and Focus)
• Independent artistic activities
• Support of students
• Fostering networks between students and external partners
• Participation in artistic research activities in the domain sound design and/or sound arts
• Responsible involvement in the further development of the Sound Design master’s programme
• Collaborations in the development and exploration of the arts, and in teaching duties assigned to the Institute
• Participation in examinations and admissions interviews
• Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures
YOUR PROFILE
• Completion of an artistic master’s (diploma) degree relevant to the position, or proof of artistic aptitude comparable to such a master’s (diploma) degree. This proof must be provided by certification of at least three years of relevant professional activity, either under an employment relationship or as a self-employed artist.
• Experience in conception and practical implementation of sound design and/or sound art projects
• Independent and distinct artistic work in the field of sound design, sound art and/or computer music
• Pedagogical and didactic experience
• Proficiency in several of the following areas: sound synthesis, computer music, sound design, interactive environments, game/film sound systems
• Knowledge in the use and/or further development of open-source programs for sound design and/or sound art is considered an asset.
• Sensitivity regarding gender, diversity, and sustainability
Please note that for any potential mutually agreed extension to an open-ended (permanent) contract, German language skills at least at level B2 are required.

CONTRACT
The position is limited to a period of 2 academic years, with the option of a mutually agreed extension.
Extent of employment: Part-time employment amounting to at least 60 % of a full-time position.
The extent of employment may be increased by mutual agreement depending on institutional needs
Salary: The minimum monthly gross salary for this position is currently € 2,265.66 (14 payments per year, classification under § 26 of the Austrian Universities Collective Agreement).
