Musicianship & Aural Teacher

Sheffield Music Academy is a vibrant and thriving music education charity, nurturing the next generation of musicians in the region.

Each Saturday during term time, we inspire and support musicians aged 4-19 through 1-1 teaching, ensembles, theory classes, and more – enabling young people to become well rounded and experienced musicians.

The post is subject to successful references and an enhanced DBS check.

About the Role:
The postholder will work with children aged 8-19, delivering classroom-based sessions in Musicianship and Aural.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspiring young people to fulfil their potential through rewarding, and engaging learning.
• Confidently introduce beginners to the principles of musicianship and aural, and supporting their early musical development.
• Inform and contribute to SMA’s curriculum, working closely with the Music Director and other tutors.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
• Availability to work 30 Saturdays per academic year in Sheffield.
• Availability to support SMA concerts where required.
