Mimas - International Opera Competition

Applications are officially open for the new edition of the: Mimas International Opera Singer Competition.

Our mission remains to bridge the gap between young talent and the professional opera world. Through a transparent online selection process, we offer singers a concrete platform to be heard by a prestigious international jury and the opportunity to perform in the historic setting of Procida Island.

Opportunities:

- Awards: Over €20,000 in scholarships, auditions, and concert opportunities.
- Performance: Winners will debut at the Mimas Festival Gala on Procida Island - August 2026

General Info:
- Categories: Young (17–22 years) and Virtuoso (23–33 years).
- Evaluation and Announcement of Winners: Entirely online.
Deadline: March 10th, 2026.

Please note: To ensure a thorough and careful evaluation, entries are strictly limited to a maximum of 40 candidates.

This competition appears to include an online round that charges over €35. musicalchairs is concerned that the fee for online judging must be commensurate with the value offered to applicants whether they are successful or unsuccessful. Please therefore study the guidelines for this competition carefully:

Is the Jury for the online round published and are they widely respected musicians?
Does each Jury member listen to the submissions in full?
Do applicants receive detailed and considered feedback about their complete performance/score from the Jury?
