Associate Principal (No. 2) Bassoon

Applications are invited for the position of Associate Principal (No.2) Bassoon with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. The position is full-time and permanent. There is an obligation to step up to Section Principal in this role.
The panel is looking for a candidate who:
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the position and role of the Associate Bassoon (No.2)
• Contributes actively to the cohesion of the section bringing positivity and enthusiasm to the role.
• Is able to be flexible and supportive within the bassoon section and wider ensemble both on and off the platform.
• Enjoys working within a section, but also possesses the skills and enthusiasm to step up to Section Principal when required.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

Auditions will be held in in London and/or Glasgow. The dates for auditions are projected to be on 30 November and 1 December. Auditions will be held in multiple rounds on the same day, so candidates should be available for the full day of their audition.
Candidates who hold a comparable or higher position, or who have trialled for a comparable or higher position in the last 18 months, may be invited straight to a second round.
