Salary range AUD $76,854 - $84,088. This position is only open to Australian Citizens, Permanent Residents of Australia, or New Zealand Citizens. If applicants are unable to travel to Hobart, the TSO will accept recorded auditions.

Excerpts released for live auditions: Tuesday 28 April 2026, or four weeks prior to a confirmed recording date
Applications close: Tuesday 12 May 2026, 4pm
Final deadline for recorded submissions: Two days following a confirmed recording date, but no later than Tuesday 19 May 2026
Audition date: Tuesday 26 May 2026

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

All set works to be performed with piano accompaniment

Mozart: Violin Concerto 3,4 OR 5, 1st Movement only plus cadenza – must be performed with piano accompaniment

AND

First movement from a standard 19th or 20th century Violin Concerto with cadenza – must be performed with piano accompaniment

AND

All orchestral excerpts
