WNO is seeking a Section Principal Timpani to join its full-time contract orchestra, reporting to WNO's Orchestra Manager.
WNO shares the power of live opera and classical music with audiences and communities across Wales and England. We are a creative and inspiring place to work and recognise that our colleagues play a vital role in advancing our strategic priorities to deliver on our ambitions.
Application Requirements:

Audition Format:
• Please prepare all excerpts in the PDF Booklet attached.
• The audition will last approximately 20 minutes.
• The audition will not be screened.
• All candidates receive one audition.
• If you progress, there will be an orchestral round in the evening 1830-2130. Therefore, please be available all day.
Auditions will be held in Cardiff on 10 November and 11 November 2025. Candidates will only be required for one of the two dates.
All successful candidates will be invited to audition by 17 October 2025.
In-person auditions are encouraged but video auditions considered upon request if invited to audition.
