Royal Danish Theatre
1st Tenor in the Royal Danish Opera Chorus

The Royal Danish Theater is holding audition for one 1st Tenor in the Royal Danish Opera Chorus
The Royal Danish Theatre is Denmark’s national company, presenting opera, ballet and theatre. Situated in its world class facility overlooking the harbour of Copenhagen, the Royal Opera is home to the unique live experience of opera and symphonic music.
The Royal Danish Opera Chorus consists of 40 full-time professional singers. The Opera Chorus participates in both opera and concert repertoire throughout the season. In addition to Danish, the Chorus sings in many different languages, including Italian, German, French, English and Russian. Members of the Chorus can be called on to perform small roles throughout the season, according to the relevant agreement.
We are looking for one (1) 1st Tenor who are a professionally trained singer, with a flair for scenic/dramatic work, for permanent employment in the Opera Chorus. Good language skills are also a prerequisite. The work-language at the theater is Danish and English. Candidates will be expected to work in one or both.
The employment starts on 1st of August 2026.
Requirements for the application for audition
• CV must be attached.
• Links to two (2) recordings made within the last 2 years must be provided. At least one of the recordings must be a video. The recordings must be uploaded to an accessible website such as YouTube.
Deadline for the application is 3rd of November 2025.

Minimum three (3) contrasting arias of your own choice, one of which must be by Mozart or Händel.
