A beautifully crafted full size violin made by John King Monk.
Label reads J.K. Monk, Maker, Merton, Surrey, SW. No31, Maseli, 1893.
Made in the early part of his violin making career the “Maseli” exhibits a luscious golden/amber oil varnish on a wonderful one piece slab cut back and two unique f holes.
The violin produces a stunning sound any folk player or soloist would love. It has just undergone a brand new professional setup including, Dominant Strings, Pegs (old English style), Wien Tailpiece and ebony Chin-rest.
Length of back 358mm
Scale length is 336mm
