Announces auditions for the following openings:
ASSISTANT CONCERTMASTER and PRINCIPAL SECOND VIOLIN (2 positions). All rounds will be held on April 23, 2026.
***One-year contracts may be offered to the runners-up with the possibility of a tenure track position.
Per-service rates & service guarantee for the 2026 – 2027 season:
· $237.16 per rehearsal & $343.88 per performance plus 26% principal bonus on all services.
· 32 guaranteed services (restrictions as per the CBA apply)
Opera Philadelphia’s season runs from September – May.
Candidates must have a green card or valid work visa in order to be employed by Opera Philadelphia.
No deposit is required to audition.
Application deadline is April 13, 2026.
Audition confirmation will be sent to all applicants beginning April 15, 2026.
Audition repertoire list/excerpts is TBD.
